ADILABAD: Adilabad District Information Officer K. Ravi Babu and Officer at the District Informatics Centre G. Rakesh on Thursday delivered lectures on current developments in the field of Information Technology (IT). They talked about the way in which IT was making life simpler. At a seminar on Information Technology in today's life organised by the Commerce department of the Government Degree and PG College, Adilabad, Mr. Ravi Babu said IT was useful in daily life from making computerised travel reservations to paying telephone and electricity bills. Tracing the evolution of computers, he said any kind of information on a plethora of subjects was possible through IT. Mr. Rakesh said IT was playing a vital role in charting out the career of students. He also spoke on the employment potential for commerce students through IT. The College Principal Mujeeb-Uz-Zafar Hussain said due to the advancements in the IT field the country's economy became truly international. He said apart from conventional literacy, students need to get IT literate in order to compete with the best in the field. Head, Department of Commerce, M. Sanjeeva Rao and convenor R. Pragnya Kumar also spoke.
