Yuva Morcha leader Uthappa announces plans to quit BJP

Staff Correspondent

Madikeri: The former vice-president of Kodagu district Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha Ballaranda Mani Uthappa, on Thursday, challenged the party leaders to initiate disciplinary action against him by expelling him for his alleged anti-party activities. Mr. Uthappa, who hails from Chettalli in Somwarpet taluk, is now under suspension from the BJP. Speaking to presspersons here, he accused former Somwarpet MLA M.P. Appachu Ranjan and Somwarpet taluk unit president B.D. Manjunath of conspiring against him. His only fault was accepting the post of president of the Chettalli Vyavasaya Seva Sahakara Sangha Niyamita (VSSSN). He said he will quit the party before the BJP leadership initiates action against him.

The BJP being routed in the zilla and taluk panchayat elections speak of the party affairs in the taluk, Mr. Uthappa added.
