Working hours of insurance offices increased

KOCHI:
As part of implementing the revised wage structure, the working hours of the four public sector general insurance companies will be increased from January 2.
P.P. Mohanan, State general secretary of the General Insurance Officers' All India Association, said that as per the Union Government notification issued in this regard, the working hours of the staff have been increased by 15 minutes every day. The office time has been rescheduled from 10 a.m. to 5.45 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, with an interval of 30 minutes for lunch. On Fridays, the office time will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The number of casual leave has been reduced and the practice of half-day casual leave stopped. Saturdays and Sundays will not be working days.
