KADAPA: Farmers adopting modern farming methods, achieving high yields and comprehensive fertiliser management and those in allied sectors of poultry farming, sericulture and vermiculture during kharif season and exemplary officials would be presented awards at the district and State-levels on January 14, Kadapa Joint Director of Agriculture M. Rajeswar said on Thursday. Small, marginal as well as big farmers were eligible and horticulture farmers who adopted micro-irrigation systems would also be rewarded, he said. Interested farmers could apply with the respective officials by December 31. Farmers to be chosen for awards were six for agriculture, three each for horticulture and animal husbandry, two each for sericulture and fisheries.
