Welcome to `Chennai 365'

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Sri Krishna Sweets has ambitious plans for 2006 - and they have nothing to do with sweets or savouries, candies or confectionery.

The popular chain of sweet shops has lined up talks, discourses, bhajans, music, dance, theatre, and literary, spiritual and humorous shows every day throughout 2006.

The events, which will feature top artistes and personalities — are all part of Sri Krishna Sweets'`Chennai 365.'

Sri Krishna Sweets' managing director, M. Murali, says the idea behind the plan is "to do one good deed everyday."

To this end he is coordinating with sabhas, social organisations, sports and humour clubs to organise the various shows.

The shows will feature orators Suki Sivam, Sudha Seshaiyyan, Bharathi Bhaskar and Solomon Pappayya as well as rendition of bhajans at temples by artistes including O.S Arun.

Dramatist S.Ve. Sekhar, comedian Vivek and others will be speaking on humour.

Generating positive vibes

"I firmly believe that thoughts and actions like these will generate positive vibrations," says Mr. Murali.

"Sabhas have willingly come forward to lend their auditoriums. The chosen topics should interest the student community and influence them in a positive manner," he says.

"The inspiration behind this is my late father N.K. Mahadeva Iyer. A simple yet powerful man, he started the business in a small 10x10 room and today, if we can boast of making it big, it's because of his hard work," he says. For details, contact 24312345
