THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar and Modern School, Kota topped Pool A and B respectively to earn a direct seeding into the boys' semifinals at the end of the league phase of the all-India CBSE basketball tournament at the Vellayani Agriculture College indoor stadium on Thursday. Hindu Senior Secondary School, Chennai and MGN Public School, Jalandhar that finished one-two in Pool C and the runners-up of Pool A and B Indian High School, Dubai and Choice School, Kochi entered the quarterfinals, also in the boys section. In the girls' section, Emerald School, Indore and Chettinad Vidyasramam, Chennai gained direct semifinal spots after finishing unbeaten in Pool A and B respectively. The other qualifiers into the round of last eight are St. Xavier's, Jaipur, Indian High School, Dubai, Bhavan's Vidyamandir, Kochi and Delhi Public School, Faridabad. The results (preliminary league): Boys: Pool A: Sprindale, Amritsar 77 (Manpreet Singh 26, Randeep Singh 24) bt Indian High School, Dubai 43 (Randeep 17). Pool C: Hindu Senior Secondary School, Chennai 62 (Bharat Raj 18, S. Renjith 11) bt John Milton Public School, Agra 35 (Sudher 16). Girls: Pool B: St. Xavier's, Jaipur 56 (Shivani Sharma 18, Arya Chouhan 15) bt Meerut Public School 34 (Shivani Chander 15, Manasi 12).
