INDORE: Madhya Pradesh cruised through to the semifinals, crushing Jammu and Kashmir by 10 wickets, and topping Group B in the Ranji Trophy Plate match here on Thursday. Sanjay Pandey took seven for 37 runs in the second essay, taking his tally to 21 scalps in the league matches this season and his match-haul to 12 for 70.
Big win for Orissa
In Cuttack, host Orissa registered a thumping innings and 293-run victory over Himachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Group A Plate match at the Barbati stadium here. Only three HP batsmen reached double figures while five, including the skipper N. Gaur, did not even open their account. Orissa bagged five points from the match. The scores: Plate A: Himachal Pradesh 168 and 67 (D. Mohanty five for 21) lost to Orissa 528 for seven decl. Plate B: J&K 314 and 121 (P. Mahajan 58, S. Pandey seven for 37) lost to Madhya Pradesh 310 and 126 for no loss (S. Dholpure 46 not out, N. Ojha 69 not out).
