Warming up to the city

Following Microsoft CEO, Bill Gates' visit, Chennai seems to be the favoured destination for a range of eminent personalities.

And with the annual music season on, Chennai's music buffs had their heart's fill of some classical music renderings, thanks to the visit of the Bavarian State orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta. The orchestra performed a special music programme in the city to commemorate the first anniversary of the tsunami tragedy.

Mr. Mehta not only enthralled the packed audience at the Music Academy in Chennai but also had something good to savour during his visit to the metropolis.

He had a taste of Chennai's hospitality at the Taj Group of Hotels.

Commenting on his stay at the Hotel Taj Coromandel, Mr. Mehta said: "God bless you all. You should conduct Hotel Master classes all over the world."

Nancy Mehta, Mr. Mehta's wife, said: "What very special, other-worldly care we've received from you and all those who work here! It is an indelible memory. We shall not think of Chennai without you."
