MAHABUBNAGAR: Minister for Information and Public Relations and power Mohd. Ali Shabbir has said that power supply timings will be extended wherever necessary to protect standing crops during rabi season. He said instructions were issued to Superintending Engineers to supervise the situation act accordingly.
One-time settlement
Addressing a public meeting at Bollampally village in Veldanda mandal on Thursday, the Minister said that the Government decided to write off the surcharge on domestic power charges which were pending since long by adopting one-time settlement system. He said that the Government had also taken a decision to give power connection to poor people at Rs. 125 only. The Government would supply the service wire, meter and other material. Mr. Shabbir Ali said that to encourage minority students, the Government allocated Rs. 10 crores to provide scholarships to them.
Stone laid
The Minister laid foundation stone for 33/11 KV service stations at Nagilla village in Madgul mandal. Later, speaking to mediapersons, he said that all public relation offices in the State would be modernised. ZP chairperson Seetha Dayakar Reddy, local MLA Y. Kishta Reddy, district Collector M. Jagadeshwar, RDO Raghunath and others participated.
