Court sets aside GO on ZP chief's removal
Legal Correspondent
HYDERABAD
: The Government's order removing E. Basawa Reddy from the post of Chairman, Zilla Parishad, Warangal, was set aside by a single judge of the High Court on Thursday.
Justice Seshasayana Reddy was allowing a writ petition filed by Zilla Parishad Chairman.
Mr. Reddy's contention was that he was sought to be removed on the ground of effecting transfers when there is a ban and executing the works in violation of the norms. He said that various other allegations did not hold any water. It was brought to the notice of the court that there were appropriate resolutions by the committees and nothing was done with a personal agenda.
The judge did not go into various contentions raised by the petitioner or merits of the case. It was made it clear that the order of removal issued in September 2005 was being set aside.
