Five sentenced for raping woman

MANGALORE: The Fast Track Court, Mangalore, has sentenced five persons accused of raping a woman from Udupi, at Someshwar (Ullal), near here, on August 21, 2000, to two year's rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 1,500. It ordered that they undergo two month's imprisonment if they failed to pay the fine. The court also sentenced them to three year's rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 3,000. It ordered that they undergo three year's imprisonment if they fail to pay the fine. All these punishments will run concurrently.

The convicted are Anil Kumar , Raju Prasanna, Rakesh Shetty, Mukesh alias Murugesh, and Harish Kottari.
