Vivekananda institute offers various courses

Meet on Himalayan quake potential

Twenty-five seismic experts from all over the country are meeting at the National Geophysical Research Institute here on December 30 and 31 to discuss earthquake potential in the Himalayan region.

The workshop on `Himalayan seismicity and tectonics' will be inaugurated by Himalayan geologist K.S. Valdiya.

Lok Adalat to settle pension cases

The Andhra Pradesh State Government Retired Employees' Association has urged pensioners whose cases are yet to be settled to approach the Lok Adalat for Pension Cases located in the second floor of the Pensioners Bhavan. The adalat will be held on December 31 and January 7 and 28 to hear the cases of those who have already approached it, according to D. Hanumantha Reddy, general secretary of the association.

Relay fast against ban on seven-seaters

Seeking immediate revocation of the orders prohibiting the entry of seven-seater autorickshaws in the city and areas of neighbouring Ranga Reddy district, the Andhra Pradesh Jala Saadhana Samithi launched a hunger strike at L.B. Nagar chowrastha here on Thursday.
