Hyderabad : Better facilities, wider roads and more walking space await visitors to the 66th All- India Industrial Exhibition beginning here on January 1.

The Exhibition Society has taken pains to lend an attractive touch to the exhibition by providing a planned lay-out of stalls and colourful lighting, according to Home Minister, K. Jana Reddy, who is also the society president.

He told presspersons here on Thursday that about 2,500 stalls, including three from Pakistan and one from Bhutan, were allotted this time. To encourage women entrepreneurs, 10 stalls were allotted to the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh. The exhibition not only provides a forum to display goods produced in the State and country but also functions as a media for educating people on developmental activities of the Government.

    Medical check-up

As in the past medical check-up would be provided to visitors at nominal charge. For the first time instant blood sugar tests would be conducted through Glucometer. Ultrasound scanning and special camps on dermatology, dental and diabetics would be held. The other attractions at the exhibition include sports, well baby show and artisans competitions, Mr. Reddy said.

He said the society planned to set up a medical college and two nursing colleges around the city. The savings accrued from the exhibition were being used for promotion of education in the backward region of the State.
