Case registered against Usilampatti MLA

Staff Reporter

MADURAI: The Karimedu police have registered a case against the Usilampatti MLA, L. Santhanam, of the All India Forward Block on charges of criminal intimidation.

According to a complaint lodged by D. Malarvizhi, wife of the AIFB State Youth Wing secretary, S. Dinakaran, a gang barged into her house at P.P. Chavadi on Tuesday and threatened to kill her husband. The gang also caused minor damages to the house.

She accused Mr. Santhanam, his son and Chellampatti Panchayat Union Chairman, S. Elangovan, and four others of conspiring the attack since they were against Mr. Dinakaran's move to rope in cine actor Karthik into the party (AIFB).

The Karimedu police have registered a case under three sections of IPC, including criminal intimidation, against the MLA and five others.
