Video conferencing facility

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the video conferencing facility set up by the Keltron at the North Conference Hall of the Secretariat on Thursday. The facility links 20 major offices. The Keltron supplied video and network equipment and also set up the video conferencing rooms in all the locations. 2 MBPS leased line is used for the conferencing. Keltron managing director V. Ramkumar was present at the function. — Staff Reporter

Revenue adalat to be held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The district administration has received 4,948 applications for the Revenue adalat to be held at the village-level from January 3. A meeting chaired by District Collector N. Ayyappan on Thursday reviewed the arrangements for the adalat. Additional Chief Secretary John Mathai who attended the meeting said the service of surveyors in other departments might also be utilised to redress the complaints on survey at the adalat. — Staff Reporter

Doctor drowned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Jitendra Singh Verma, 46, a medical practitioner with a district hospital in New Delhi who went for swimming in the sea at Kovalam drowned on Thursday afternoon. Dr. Verma was on a vacation along with his family when the incident occurred. He was brought dead to Medical College Hospital here. — Staff Reporter

Man injured in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Doniel, a resident of Poojappura, was injured when his bike collided with a car near Jagathy bridge at 11.30 p.m. on Thursday. Doniel was admitted to a private hospital, the police said. — Staff Reporter

Found dead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 75-year-old unidentified man was found dead near a shop at Cheriayamuttam, Poonthura, on Thursday afternoon. The body has been shifted to Medical College Hospital mortuary. — Staff Reporter
