NMU set to become recognised union of RTC

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The stage is set for an action replay with the National Mazdoor Union (NMU) getting the edge over its rivals as the recognised trade union in the APSRTC with a clear majority.

Reports coming in late on Thursday night indicated that it was likely to win in the State recognition with a majority of anywhere between 4,500 and 6,000 votes.

The rivals in the fray are the CPI-affiliated Employees Union (EU) and the CPI(M)-affiliated Staff and Workers Federation (SWF). Executive Director, Administration, I. Prabhakar Reddy confirmed that the NMU was leading in the race.
