HYDERABAD:
Stem cell research, applied pharmacology and bio-technology will be among the new areas to be introduced at the proposed Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) university campus, the foundation for which is to be laid by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on December 31.
The first phase of the NIMS University Research and Referral Centre, coming up on a sprawling campus of 150 acres at Rangapur, Nalgonda, is expected to be completed in two years, NIMS Director D. Prasada Rao told reporters here on Thursday. A general hospital and colleges of nursing and physiotherapy would be ready in the first phase.
Medical college
He said that it would also have a referral centre on virology and epidemics. It was also planned to establish a medical college if the Government permitted. The university would seek collaboration with reputed international institutions.
