Coimbatore: With the aim of growing 10 to 15 per cent a year, Henkel SPIC India Ltd. would like to expand in Western and Northern India, A. Satishkumar, Managing Director of the company in Chennai, said here on Thursday. He told presspersons at Jansons School of Business (JSB) that the company was "particularly strong in the South and East" and wanted to have a presence in the West and North to gain a "good foothold and grow faster".
Opportunities
"If the economy grows at the current rate, there will be enough opportunities for all companies to grow," he noted, and added that the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) market could increase by five to ten percent.
Research centre
He said that Henkel SPIC, which had invested "very heavily on technology", had a research and development centre in Chennai and was committed to "safety, health, environment and quality."
Businesses
The company had two businesses, one in technology and the other in the branded sector (laundry, home care, cosmetics and toiletries).
