Bangalore: Centuries by Prithvi Varadarajan (116) and Devashish Dalmiya (111) helped Bishop Cotton Boy's School post 392 for six against Frank Antony Public School (FAPS) in the Himalaya Chyavanaprasha under-15 cricket tournament semifinals that commenced here on Friday. The scores (semifinals): Bishop Cotton Boy's School 392 for six in 90 overs (Prithvi Vardarajan 116, Devashish Dalmiya 111, David Mathias 73, Karun Nair four for 123) vs. FAPS. SJBHS 150 in 75.1 overs (M. Vivan 66) vs. Presidency School, RT Nagar 187 for four in 45 overs (G. Akshay 92 batting).
Deepika to lead
Deepika Babu will lead Karnataka in the Junior National women's cricket tournament, commencing at Hazaribagh on Jan. 5. The team: Deepika Babu (captain), Karuna Jain, Sindhu Ashok, Sunitha Vasudevan, Geetha, Ranjini Kumar, Wendy D'Souza, Sharmila, Sneha Prasanna, Vanitha,Veda Krishnamurthy, Sanchita, Aathmaja, Krithika and Preethi Shukla. Innings win for Karnataka
Sai Kumar's 161 (135b, 30x4, 1x6) set the base for Karnataka's innings and 194-run victory over Kerala in the KSCA South Zone under-13 tournament here on Friday. Karnataka posted 381 to gain a 321-run first innings lead and then bundled out Kerala for 127. The scores: Kerala 60 in 48 overs and 127 in 64.4 overs (Shankaran Kutty 54) lost to Karnataka 381 for four in 83 overs (Sai Kumar 161, K.V. Siddharth 51). Hyderabad 333 in 169.2 overs (Naveen 115, Vinay Rao 86, Sreekar 63, K. Bharath Shankar four for 87) vs Tamil Nadu 36 no loss in 18 overs. Goa 109 in 61.3 overs and 83 for five in 28 overs vs Andhra 304 in 89.1 overs (Sriram 127, Mehboob Basha 102, Ganesh Raj Narvekar five for 98).
Arun is skipper
Arun Bafna will lead Karnataka in the P.S. Ram Mohan Rao Trophy under-25 tournament to be played at Ramagundem from January 9 to 11. The team: Arun Bafna (captain), Devaraj Patil, Pawan Gargi, Manjunath, Raju Bhatkal, Steve Lazarus, Prithviraj, Vilton Crasto, Ryan Ninan, Chetan William, C.M. Goutham, Vinoo Prasad and C.B. Karthik.
