Crafts of Orissa exhibited

CHENNAI : The artistic skills of crafts persons from Orissa can be seen in a 17-day exhibition of handicrafts and handlooms in the City. The expo organised at V.R. Maligai hall on Shastri Nagar I Avenue, features pure silk saris from Sambalpur, Bolangir, and Sonepur, which occupy a pride of place.

Also available are tussar saris and dress material embellished with mirror, jal work and embroidery.

Sculpted sandstone icons from Orissa, wall hangings, and lampshades, lacquer bangles from Cuttack as well as carved wooden pieces add colour and lustre to the exposition continuing till January 15 (9 a.m - 9 p.m.)..
