HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy has requested Chief Secretary T.K. Dewan to get complaints of irregularities in the implementation of Kalwakurthy lift-irrigation scheme enquired by the Vigilance and Enforcement Department. Dr. Reddy released to the media here on Saturday copies of the letter addressed to Mr. Dewan in which he narrated the sequence of events leading to a scuffle between TDP and Congress workers during the `bhoomi pooja' for the second phase lift of the project at Jonnalaboguda village a week ago.
Probe sought
He said Congress leaders prevented him from participating in the function as irregularities committed by them in the project would be exposed if he spoke out at the venue. He requested Mr. Dewan to probe how a Government function was converted into an `all Congress' affair. At a separate news conference, senior TDP leaders -- M.V. Mysoora Reddy and Kadiam Srihari -- criticised the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in pointing an accusing finger at the party when the ruling party itself was saddled with indiscipline in its ranks. They accused the Congress leaders of speaking in different tunes on sensitive issues as irrigation.
