Official suspended

TIRUPUR: The executive officer of the 15. Velampalayam Municipality, A.N. Manickam, who is to retire from service on Saturday, was placed under suspension on Friday. The Commissioner of Municipal Administration ordered his suspension following a report from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption. Mr. Manickam was found in possession of Rs. 1.39 lakhs on December 20 when the DVAC sleuths conducted a raid.
