Bajaj Auto, India's premier two and three wheeler automobile company introduced the new Discover, thereby adding another bike to its portfolio of successful motorcycles like the CT100, Pulsar DTS-i, Avenger DTS-i and the Discover DTS-i. Yet another feather in Bajaj Auto's R&D department, the new Discover is a completely indigenous effort. The new 112 Discover comes with alloy wheels-the first in its category and has all latest features such as the world first Exhaus TEC technology, SNS suspension and the Ride Control Switch. The objective is to increase Bajaj Auto's market share in the `Executive' segment of motorcycles. As a strategy, Bajaj Auto intends to leverage the highly successful Discover brand. Bajaj Auto sold a total of77,000 of the existing 125 cc Discover DTS-i in the festive months of October and November 2005. Bajaj Auto, which follows global norms wherein automobile companies have multiple products under each platform. Since high fuel economy is a critical requirement of a set of executive segment customers, in addition to style and ride feel, the new 112 cc Discover, which is designed towards giving the rider the category best mileage of 101 kmpl (under standard test conditions), while retaining the look and feel of the 125 cc DTS-i version."The new Discover is priced at Rs.38, 833 ex-showroom AP. The production of Discover has started at Bajaj Auto's Akurdi plant and it will be available across all the dealership as a New Year gift. The new Discover retains all the style attributes such as athletic, lean and muscular styling along with gorgeous graphics. The new Discover comes with kick-start option and has the longest wheelbase of 1305 mm for superb stability and riding comfort. The world first SNS (Spring-in-Spring suspension) rear suspension with triple rated springs makes it the most comfortable bike in its category.
