Governor, Chief Minister extend New Year greetings

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor R.L. Bhatia and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy have conveyed their New Year greetings to the people.The Governor urged people to strive for a fruitful year of progress and development. Mr. Chandy wished a happy and peaceful New Year to Malayalis the world over. He wanted each day of the New Year to be beneficial and prosperous. He expressed hope that the New Year would provide the impetus to translate Kerala's development dreams into reality. Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan expressed hope that the New Year would be one of unity, fraternity and progress for the people of Kerala. He wanted it to further strengthen the finer aspects of Kerala.

Speaker Therambil Ramakrishnan said that he shared the happiness of the Malayalis in ushering in the New Year which brought with it fresh hopes. The former Chief Minister K. Karunakaran exhorted everyone to come together and overcome the problems experienced during 2005 and forge ahead. Agriculture Minister K.R. Gouri expressed hope that the New Year would enable people to uphold the message of unity and fraternity. While Minister for Revenue K.M. Mani wished the New Year to be prosperous and plentiful, Minister for Education E.T. Mohammed Basheer wanted hopes and dreams to be realised. KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala wished everyone a prosperous New Year.
