Asom Sena members ransack hotel

Guwahati: Activists of the Asom Sena on Saturday ransacked a hotel here to enforce its ban on "indecent programmes in the name of New Year celebrations."

Police said the management of the hotel lodged a complaint that some miscreants had gone on the rampage in the hotel when authorities refused to call off a dance programme for New Year revellers.

Activists of the Asom Sena went around the city warning hotels, clubs and revellers to refrain from "indecent programmes and activities" in the name of New Year celebrations. "
