Curbs on processions

Commissioner of Police and Additional District Magistrate Umesh Sharraf has issued orders stating that no procession should be taken out or meeting held in Vijayawada Police Commissionerate limits without his prior permission.

No fee would be charged for grant of such permission. The Commissioner issued the orders by exercising the powers under section 30 of the Police Act.

The orders would be in force till March 31.

New Year celebrations

Vijayawada East MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna participated in the New Year celebrations at Navajeevan Balabhavan in Hanumanpet on Sunday. After cutting the New Year cake and distributing sweets to the children, the MLA wanted them to focus on improving their skills.

Executive member of the APCC Kolanukonda Sivaji, corporator M. Ratna Bindu and others were present.

Faculty Club

Faculty club of Kakaraparthi Bhavanarayana College on Sunday celebrated the New Year on the college premises. Besides students and staff of the college, students from Hindu high school participated in several competitions and cultural programmes. Secretary and correspondent of Hindu High School Gopisetti Mallayya lauded the efforts of the staff and announced that the school would be expanded with new sections in the coming months.
