WARANGAL: Four of a family committed suicide late on Sunday night consuming poison. According to the police, P. Venkateswarlu,40, and his wife Dhanalaxmi, 35, residents of Yellam Bazar here, gave poison to their daughters - Mounica,14, and Laxmi,8 and consumed the same. They died instantly. Their only son Vinay,12, who was sleeping in the other room, was spared by the distressed parents. Venkateswarlu was a goldsmith and had been unemployed for quite some time. He had accumulated debts and hence resorted to the extreme step. There was a mild commotion at MGM Hospital following the incident. Members of `Swarnakarula Sangham' took out a rally and staged a dharna at the hospital. Members of major political parties visited the hospital and demanded that the Government pay ex gratia to the family and help the surviving boy.
