Unfortunate, says India

Diplomatic Correspondent

NEW DELHI: India has termed as "unfortunate" the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) decision not to extend its unilateral ceasefire. "We have consistently called upon the Maoists to abandon the path of violence and terror, accept the discipline of multi-party democracy, and work for a political settlement that contributes to the political stability and economic prosperity of Nepal," said the External Affairs Ministry spokesman on Monday.
