An icon In the passing away of Kerry Packer, the cricketing world has lost an icon. He brought radical changes to the game such as night cricket, colour uniforms and use of white ball. Australia's cricket channel Channel 9 was his brainchild. Though the Packer series created a controversy, the charm of the game was never lost. K. Pradeep, Chennai Best fielder award Hats off to the Indian team for winning the Test series against Sri Lanka. Kudos to Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble for their brilliant performance. India's fielding can still get better. BCCI should perhaps institute an award for the best fielder in both one-dayers and Tests to provide an incentive. D. Srinivasan, Kallidaikurichi (Tirunelveli) A big draw The pull out of top player Rafael Nadal from the Chennai Open is a big blow to tennis lovers in India. However, the presence of the Croat Ivan Ljubicic should make a big difference. Known for his breathtaking groundstrokes and his recent exploits in the Davis Cup, Ljubicic could prove a great draw. K.V. Raman, Chennai Budhia needs care With experts seeing a potential world-class long distance runner in four-year old Budhia Singh, it is necessary that the Government take special care of this boy who comes from a poor family. Long distance running could burn him out unless he has the benefit of nutritious diet and is properly nurtured. Gourab Mohanty, Vishakapatnam
