BANGALORE: Gnaneshwar, who rode Gallardo, in the Kalinadi Plate on Dec. 31, 2005 was suspended by the stewards from riding in races from Jan. 10 to 13 (both days inclusive) for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race. In the Vijayanagar Cup, Shahbuddin (Talk Of The Devil) was fined Rs. 1,000 for the excessive use of the whip on his mount during the race. In the Brahmaputra Plate, Krishnan (Ranveer) was fined Rs. 2,000 for not making sufficient effort to improve his position between 1000m and 700m for no apparent reason. In the Summer Dust Plate (Div. I), Raja Rao (Elegant Embrace) was fined Rs. 2,000 for not sufficiently persevering with his mount. An enquiry is being held into the riding of jockey Vivek on Rule The Fashion in the Star Contender Plate.
