NEW DELHI: It's a film that is sure to chase the wedding seasons blues away. Bringing a little fun into the endless functions to be attended during the winter season is "Wedding Crashers" which is a New Line Cinema presentation. The movie is centred round two life-long friends who are divorce mediators, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. `Global souls' in the right sense of the word, they don't discriminate on grounds of religion and spend their time gate-crashing into wedding parties from Jewish to Chinese and even Hindu. Always the hit of every reception, they have their routine worked out to ensure that they are never caught. However, things get very complicated when the duo crash into a lavish wedding and find that there is more at stake then just a good time. With Owen falling in love with one of the bridesmaids who has an Ivy League boyfriend, he convinces his friend to forget the rules for a bit and go on an extended weekend with the family. And things finally get out of hand. Considered a bit like "Meet the Parents", as it is slightly risqué, the movie seems to have clicked in the United States. While it was released there this summer, it has finally reached Indian shores in winter. Slotted as the big summer comedy, Vince has received rave reviews for his performance. Directed by David Dobkin of the "Shanghai Knights" fame that also starred Owen, like his last film this one too promises to a typical American comedy with its occasional really funny moments. For those looking to see a movie to be cerebral and intellectually stimulated, this is not a good choice. But if you want to get away from the cold wave on a free evening to get a few laughs, "Wedding Crashers" is a good bet. Apart from Owen and Vince, the cast also includes Christopher Walken, Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher, Jane Seymour, Ellen Albertini Dow, Bradley Cooper and Ron Canada. The movie is up for release across theatres in Delhi this coming Friday.
