COLOMBO: At least five persons were killed and two others injured in an explosion in Sri Lanka's eastern Trincomalee town on Monday. The Army said the persons killed were "LTTE cadres," who succumbed to an "accidental explosion." Subsequent searches found "four bicycles, a motorcycle and an unexploded grenade," it said. However, TamilNet website said the victims were seated on a bench near the beach when a grenade was lobbed at them by "unidentified persons" from an auto-rickshaw.
