Uma Bharti, unattached member

Bhopal: Nearly a month after her expulsion from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Uma Bharti was declared an unattached member in Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Monday.

Making the announcement in the House, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani said the change in Ms. Bharti's status followed the receipt of a letter from the BJP Legislature Party secretary.

The communication was also accompanied by a letter from BJP leader M.A. Naqvi, giving information about Ms. Bharti's expulsion, Mr. Rohani said. — PTI
