Chiru throws a lifeline to ailing boy

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Film actor Chiranjeevi has announced that Lokesh, a four-year-old who is to undergo blood transfusion every month, will be provided blood free of cost by the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank.

Reacting to a news item published in these columns, the actor said that a letter of confirmation for life-long supply of blood to Lokesh would be issued shortly.

The boy's parents could take the blood units whenever necessary.

The blood bank would also bear the expenses of transfusion. Lokesh, son of Ravi and Surekha, daily wage earners, has a congenital problem due to which his body cannot generate blood and is dependent on monthly transfusions.
