Terrorist outfit funds Mujeeb

HYDERABAD:
Mujeeb Ahmed, who was arrested recently by Hyderabad police on charge of planning terrorist attacks, had received Rs. 3 lakhs from the terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen he was working, the police said. This amount was meant to be spent for building `jihadi' movement.
Mujeeb was sentenced to life imprisonment for gunning down a police officer Krishna Prasad in 1992 but was released on remission in August last. He reportedly came in contact with the Hizbul Mujahideen chief Salahuddin, a Pakistan national, while he was in a jail in Jammu. Later, he was appointed as the group's head in city. Recently, Salahuddin sent a satellite phone, later seized by the police, to Mujeeb to contact the militants in J&K.
