KOCHI: Due to maintenance works, power supply to RSAC Road and V-Mart regions will be disrupted between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, said a release from KSEB. — Staff Reporter

Headload rates

revised

KOCHI: Wages and fee rates for headload workers under the Ernakulam local committee of the Kerala Headload Workers Welfare Board has been revised with effect from January 1.

A meeting chaired by R. Sudarsa, chairperson, Ernakulam Committee of the Board, decided to hike the existing fee by 15 per cent for the next two years. — Staff Reporter

Railway employees' protest

KOCHI: Protest marches were taken out by railway employees in response to a strike call by the All India Loco Running Staff Association. The rallies were against the disciplinary action against the loco pilots in Hubli division of South Western Railways for refusing to work more than 14 hours at a stretch — Staff Reporter

AIDS a development issue too: Mayor

KOCHI: Mayor Mercy Williams has said HIV/AIDS is not just a health problem but a development problem too.

She was speaking at a district-level network meeting of Partnership for Sexual Health Projects here on Monday.

The meeting, called to find ways to shore up the anti-HIV activities in the district, was presided over by Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish. — Special Correspondent
