THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Minister for Education E.T. Mohammed Basheer has said that the Government will provide special assistance to the University of Kerala to set up the proposed business incubation facility. He said this after laying the foundation stone for the new buildings for the Department of Arabic, the Centre for Bioinformatics and for the extension block of the Institute of Distance Education here on Monday. It is necessary to encourage new trends and developments in the higher education sector. The incubation facility designed to encourage and assist students to set up business ventures therefore deserves support. Mr. Basheer said he would bring this proposal to the attention of the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister, and ensure adequate financial support. The fact that the Department of Geology had bagged a project from Reliance Industries was laudable, he said.
