COIMBATORE: Drinking water supply under the Pilloor scheme has been restored after nearly a day's disruption caused by a breach on the main line at Vayyampalayam, north of the city. Round-the-clock repair works were taken up immediately to plug the breach and restore supply to the eastern parts of the city and more than 500 panchayats. Supply of 125 million litres a day (mld) to these areas, including nearly 65 mld to the city, resumed on Tuesday afternoon. It was a minor breach that could be fixed within 24 hours, Corporation sources said.
