Letters to the Editor
Rajnath Singh, who has taken over as BJP president, appears to be the right man for the task. His clean image and proven capabilities can help manage the party at this crucial juncture. However, it will be interesting to watch how he takes into confidence the various factions and the second rung leaders in his bid to revive the party.
Sudhir Shivaram,
Mr. Rajnath Singh's assertion that his priority is to "fight corruption" (Jan. 3.) comes against the backdrop of the scams some BJP members are involved in. It is time the BJP realises that a mere change of leadership will not bring in the desired results.
P. Venkatesh,
Surendra, in his cartoonscape (Jan. 3), has portrayed well the difficult days ahead for Mr. Rajnath Singh. It could well prove to be a crown of thorns for Mr. Singh. One only hopes he will prove equal to the challenge.
