Welcome news for commuters

WITH TRANSPORT Minister Mallikarjun Kharge announcing it at the Road Safety Week, the Metro Rail project is definitely on the cards and Bangaloreans can look forward to a fast and modern public transport system soon.

If politicians still favour the elevated rail, let us have both and soon, say the city's hapless commuters.

At the last count, we were marching towards the 2.4 million mark as far as vehicles were concerned, according to Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, M.N. Reddi.

Almost every third citizen has a vehicle.

That should be some kind of a record for a city of this size.
