Arrack seized, woman arrested at Neelankarai

CHENNAI:
Police seized about 100 sachets of arrack at Neelankarai and arrested a woman for violating prohibition laws.
According to police, the raid was conducted following a tip off.
The woman has been remanded to judicial custody.
Last week, the officials seized 480 bottles of liquor smuggled from Pondicherry and arrested four persons.
Police said the arrested persons used a van, car and two-wheeler to smuggle the goods. .
Police were tipped off about the unloading of the bottles at a godown in Vettuvankeni and effected the seizure.
The vehicles used by them were also seized, police added.
