Veterinary graduates' appeal to YSR

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Ninety-four veterinary science graduates who passed out in November last year represented to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy that they be provided an opportunity to join Government service as veterinary assistant surgeons.

The representation recalled the recent statement of Animal Husbandry Minister G. Surya Rao that 617 posts of VAS were vacant but Government was unable to fill them for lack of suitable candidates.

The graduates while offering to join Government service said though the Director of Animal Husbandry had written to Government with regard to 125 posts the file was not cleared by the Finance Department. Passage of budget was said to be holding up the file, the representation said.

The students said 124 graduates who passed out last year were available for selection as VAS.
