NEW DELHI: At least four personnel posted with the Crime Branch of the Delhi police have been placed under suspension and an inquiry initiated against them following a complaint that they had threatened the attendants of a wine shop at Gole Market in the Capital with their service assault rifles. The incident took place a few days ago when the accused arrived at the shop after it had closed for the day. The team, reportedly comprising two sub-inspectors and other junior police personnel, had stopped at Gole Market to buy liquor. However, the attendant of the shop that had half shut told the policemen that it was closed for the day. At this, the policemen allegedly threatened them with dire consequences and one of them even trained his assault rifle at an attendant. The shop staff called up the Police Control Room, following which the local police and a PCR van reached the spot.
