BANGALORE: Two youths, posing as cable TV repairers, stabbed a housewife and robbed her of gold jewellery at her house in Hennur police station limits on Wednesday. The police said that around 2.15 p.m., two youths knocked on the doors of Savitha Kantharaju on 7th C Cross, Prakaruthi Layout. They introduced themselves as cable TV repairers and entered the house when she was alone. They robbed her of four gold bangles and a gold chain. When she resisted them, the two stabbed her on her arm with a knife, the police said. The Hennur police have registered a case and are investigating.
Couple killed in accident
A 55-year-old man and his wife were killed when a lorry rammed the scooter they were riding in Indiranagar traffic police station limits on Tuesday night. The police said the accident occurred near New Thippasandra Circle. The victims were identified as Krishnappa, a flourmill owner, and his wife Rama Devi (45). They were residents of Maruthinagar. The Indiranagar traffic police have seized the lorry and registered a case.
Recovered
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials have arrested two persons on charges of theft and recovered from them 45 silk saris, estimated at Rs. 2 lakhs. The names of the arrested were given as S. Manjunath (29) of Byatarayanapura and Thimme Gowda (51) of Doddaballapur taluk in Bangalore Rural district. In another case, the CCB officials arrested Anand (27) of Toobugere in Doddaballapur taluk on charges of theft and recovered from him gold jewellery estimated at Rs. 20,000.
