More staff nurses sought

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Hospital Employees' and Nurses' Union has written to State Principal Secretary (Health) Rakesh Mehta asking him to take urgent note of staff nurse shortage at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital in Shahdara.

"One of the major problems that nurses in hospital are facing is severe staff shortage. Working with an existing strength of only 515 nurses, which is abysmally below the required numbers, work especially during night hours gets adversely affected," said a member of the union.

"If the situation is allowed to deteriorate, we are afraid that we will be left with no other means but to go for a protest rally," she added.
