Seminars on Communal Violence Bill

NEW DELHI:
The Union Home Ministry is organising seminars across the country to discuss the provisions of the Communal Violence (Prevention, Control, and Rehabilitation of Victims) Bill that was introduced in the Rajya Sabha on December 12, 2005.
The Bill has been referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs. The inaugural seminar will be held here on January 6.
Those expected to attend include MPs, MLAs, Municipal Councillors, officers of the Home Department, members of the National Integration Council, members of the governing council of the National Foundation for Communal Harmony, police officers, representatives from non-governmental organisations, student leaders, legal experts, and persons working in the area of communal violence.
