CHENNAI: Wellknit Team of Chennai won the Mohan Sicka Trophy for the Board-a-Match event in the 47th edition of National Bridge Championship here on Thursday. Well Knit Team represented by C.R. Badrinath, R. Krishnan, K. Krishnakumar, N.K. Gupta, Uttam Gupta and Arvind Srinivas scored 238 match points (mp) out of possible 372. Indian Railways `A' represented by Pritish Kushari, Manas Mukherjee, Rana Roy, Sumit Mukherjee, Amarnath Banerjee and Snehashish Roy finished runner-up with 237. There was a three-way tie for the third place. After a tie-break, the third position went to Manyawar team, comprising Raju Tolan, Vinay Desai, Ajay Khare, Keyzad Ankesaria, Kaustabh Bendre and Ankit Sanghvi. In the IndusInd Bank-sponsored categorised pairs event, P.T. Ramjee and B.T. Pai (822 mp) came first while B. Goswami and K.P. Chatterjee finished runners-up with 788. Meanwhile, Y. Kamalakara Rao was elected president of the Bridge Federation of India for the following year. Mukul Chatterjee will be the honorary general secretary while Niranjan Ubhyakar will be the honorary secretary (Master Points) and M.K. Choudhary the honorary treasurer. The final placings: Mohan Sicka Trophy: 1. Wellknit (238 mp), 2. Indian Railways `A' (237), 3. Manyawar (232), 4. Agsar Paints (232), 5. K.R. Vijayanand Singh (232), 6. Formidable (224), 7. Kamalesh Gupta `IV' (219), 8. C.V. Rao (209), 9. India Blues (207), 10. J.P. Goenkas `IV' (206). IndusInd Bank categorised pairs event: 1. P.T. Ramjee and B.T. Pai (822 mp), 2. B. Goswami and K.P. Chatterjee (788), 3. T.R. Krishnan and Sapan Desai (776), 4. Britto Madhavan and A.K. Baliar Singh (761), 5. D.C. Bagchi and R.K. Majumder (732), 6. R. Gupta and S. Chitmis (731), 7. S.
