Vajramuni dead

BANGALORE:
The much loved villain of Kannada cinema, Vajramuni, who acted in over 300 films and was known for his deep and resonant voice and histrionic talent, died in a private hospital here in the early hours of Thursday after a prolonged illness.
He was 62 and is survived by his wife and three sons.
A winner of the lifetime achievement award (2004) instituted by the State Government, Vajramuni was suffering from multiple ailments, including kidney failure.
He made his debut in ``Mallammana Pavada'', which was directed by late Puttanna Kanagal. Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh has expressed grief over the death of Vajramuni, whom he described as a talented actor.
