Status quo ordered in ZP chief's case

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court on Thursday ordered status quo to be maintained in the case of Baswa Reddy, Chairman, Zilla Parishad, Warangal. The bench was passing these interim orders in a writ plea filed by the Government.

The Government filed the writ plea challenging the judgement of the judge who had set aside the orders passed by the State Government removing Baswa Reddy from the post of Chairman, Zilla Parishad, Warangal. The single judge directed the Government to furnish appropriate information to facilitate Baswa Reddy to respond and on this ground of vague information the removal order was set aside.

The bench directed the case to be listed in the last week of January.

Warangal Staff Reporter writes: Meanwhile, the row between Mr Baswa Reddy and Samma Rao continues to embarrass the district officials. Mr. Reddy and Mr Rao exchanged words at the TDP meeting recently, both claiming to be abiding by court orders.
