GO issued on Krishna water for PABR

HYDERABAD:
The Government on Wednesday issued an important order allocating 10 tmcft of Krishna water from the Srisailam dam to the Pennahobilam Balancing Reservoir in Anantapur district.
At the all-party meeting recently on the Pothireddypadu Head Regulator Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy sought such an allocation citing the plight of Anantapur district.
To ensure 10 tmcft to the district, the discharge capacity of the regulator would have to be increased to 44,000 cusecs, and not to 40,000 cusecs only, he had said at the meeting.
However, Dr. Reddy said he would have consultations again before any final decision..
